Originator: Brian Smith 2004
Materials:
- Hook: Standard dry fly, No. 10-20
- Thread: Olive
- Shuck: Antron, body length
- Underbody: Green embroidery thread, built up at rear of shank only.
- Body: Dubbing, Hare-tron HT-14 Caddis Green
- Wing: Elk hair, grey, lay on top of shank, slightly past the hook bend; allowed to spread over body. Wing stub stands up at the eye.
- Final procedure: Spray all, excluding trailing shuck, with silicone shoe spray.
- Tying Sequence & Tips: Body is fattened at rear with embroidery thread to resemble natural caddis prototype. There is no hackle; the fly floats in the surface film.
- Comments: Alternate colours are tan Hare-tron HE-4 Harešs Ear, BWO green. This is a proven pattern for discriminating trout.
