GETTING STARTED

MATERIALS NEEDED
  • Hook: Size 4 - 4x long Streamer
  • Thread: Black Mono
  • Weight: 0.025 Lead Wire
  • Tail: Black Marabou
  • Body: Dark Olive Chenille
  • Rib: Heavy Copper Wire
  • Hackle: Brown Saddle Hackle
Step 1: Wrap lead around hook to weight fly.
Step 2: Wrap thread around front and back of lead to hold it in place.
Step 3: Measure black marabou the length of the hook and tie in for the tail.
Step 4: Tie in copper wire for ribbing later.
Step 5: Tie in hackle, by the tip, for palmering up the body later.
Step 6: Tie in dark olive/black variegated chenille.
Step 7: Wrap chenille forward to form the body.
Step 8: Make 6 to 7 ribs on the body with copper wire.
Step 9: Palmer brown hackle up the body and finish with a nice big black head.
Step 10: Whip finish, head cement, and fly is ready.
